This presentation discusses some of issues raised during the adaptation of Cafflogion (1979), a dystopian science-fiction novella in the Welsh language by R. Gerallt Jones. It will reflect on the reworking of the novella as interactive text, noting how the creation of multiple alternative pathways for the characters within the basic schema of the novel radically disrupts the implicit linearity of the original and challenges monomythic conceptions of the characters as heroes.
